RoamVitals started with a simple question: why should peace of mind have a parking lot radius?
Our story
I was tired of the existing products being outdated, limited, and frankly just dumb. I’d tried every RV monitoring system I could find, and they all had the same problem: they treated alerts like a thermostat. Number crosses a threshold, alarm fires. Done.
That sounds reasonable until you actually live with it. My AC is running exactly as expected during the day — should that fire a “temperature high” alert? The fridge is cold because we winterized it — should that trigger a freeze warning? The answer was always the same: the system had no idea what was happening in my life. It just watched numbers.
What I actually needed was something that understood context — that knew my refrigerator was winterized, that knew my AC was scheduled to run, that knew the difference between shore power dropping because I tripped a breaker and shore power dropping because the campground went dark at 2 AM. I wanted alerts that reflected reality, not just raw sensor values crossing arbitrary lines.
We’re a family business out of Kansas, and we camp every weekend. This isn’t a product we built for a market we researched — it’s a product we built because we needed it. We lived the problem every trip. So we built RoamVitals: context-aware monitoring that works for everyone from the occasional weekend camper to the full-timer who’s been on the road for years. Water leak detectors, power monitoring, temperature, motion, and more — all with alert logic that actually understands how people camp.
It’s still early. But it’s exactly what we wished existed.
Our mission
RoamVitals exists because peace of mind shouldn’t have a parking lot radius.
RV owners have poured real money, real time, and real love into their rigs. They deserve the same smart monitoring that protects a home — without a complex install, a proprietary closed system, or a subscription that makes you feel like you’re renting what you already own.
We built RoamVitals to be simple enough to set up in a campsite, honest about what it does, and reliable enough to trust when it really matters.
