Text alerts

How RoamVitals text messages work, how you turn them on, and how you stop them.

RoamVitals text alerts are optional and off until you turn them on. They tell you about the RV monitoring hardware on your own account: a reading crossing a threshold you set, a smoke, carbon monoxide or propane alarm, or a hub that has stopped reporting. We never send marketing by text.

How to turn them on

Opt-in happens inside your own RoamVitals account, and nobody can turn text alerts on for somebody else. Every number is entered by the signed-in account holder, for their own account.

  1. Create a RoamVitals account at app.roamvitals.com and claim your hub using the device claim code in the box.
  2. Go to Settings → Delivery destinations.
  3. Choose your country and enter your own mobile number.
  4. Tick the consent box. It is unchecked by default, and the Add button stays disabled until you tick it.
  5. We text you a one-time code. Enter it in the app. No alert is sent to a number until that code is entered.

Sharing an RV? Invite the other person as a member. They complete the same five steps in their own account, on their own phone, so the consent is always theirs.

The consent you agree to

This is the exact wording shown beside the checkbox in the app:

By checking this box, you consent to receive transactional text messages from RoamVitals for RV monitoring alerts and account verification codes at the number you entered. This is my own number. Message frequency may vary. Standard message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out. Reply HELP for help. View our Terms and Conditions. View our Privacy Policy.

We record the wording you agreed to, the date and time, and whether the verification code was entered.

What you will receive

  • A verification code when you add your number.
  • Alerts about your own equipment – a threshold you set being crossed, a safety alarm, or a hub that stopped reporting.

Message frequency may vary, because it depends on the thresholds you set and on what your equipment does. Standard message and data rates may apply – those are between you and your mobile carrier. RoamVitals does not charge you for texts.

Stopping them, and getting help

Reply STOP to any RoamVitals message to cancel, or remove the number in your account. Either one stops every text to that number, including smoke, carbon monoxide and propane alerts, so please set up another way to reach you first. Reply START to resume.

Reply HELP to any message for help, or email [email protected].

Your number

No mobile information will be sold or shared with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes. Your number goes only to the messaging provider that carries the message to your phone, so that it can be delivered, and they may not use it for anything else. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.

Text alerts are delivered over mobile networks we do not control. They can be delayed or dropped by a carrier and they do not work where there is no signal, so please do not rely on a text as your only warning for anything that matters.
