From parking lot to peace of mind in under 10 minutes.

Here’s exactly what happens when you set up RoamVitals โ€” no surprises, no tools, no technical knowledge required.

1

Unbox and power on

Your kit arrives with the RoamVitals Hub, a power supply, and a USB cable. Connect the hub to any standard powered outlet or USB port in your RV. A status light confirms it’s on and initializing.

No tools. No drilling. No appointment with an electrician. If you can plug in a phone charger, you can install RoamVitals.

Works with: Campground Wi-Fi, your phone’s hotspot, your own router. The hub connects during setup and syncs automatically when online.

2

Connect your phone to the hub

On your phone, go to Wi-Fi settings and connect to the network your hub is broadcasting. Open your phone’s browser โ€” the setup wizard loads automatically. Follow the prompts to connect your hub to your campground Wi-Fi or mobile hotspot.

Takes about two minutes. Works on any phone โ€” iPhone, Android, or anything with a browser. No app store trip required.

3

Place your sensors

Wireless sensors pair automatically when powered on near the hub. Stick or hang them wherever conditions matter most:

  • Living area โ€” your primary temperature and humidity reading
  • Sleeping area โ€” for overnight freeze and comfort monitoring
  • Near the refrigerator โ€” catch door-ajar and compressor failures
  • Exterior storage bay โ€” monitor for cold-weather vulnerability

Sensors are battery-powered, so there are no wires to run. Pair as many as your plan supports.

Bluetooth range: Sensors connect to the hub over Bluetooth โ€” approximately 30 feet in open space. Walls and metal surfaces reduce range. Place the hub centrally in your RV for the best coverage.

Optional but powerful: RoamVitals reads your Power Watchdog’s data over Bluetooth โ€” voltage, current, energy usage, and fault events. It never sends commands to or controls your Power Watchdog device. Your electrical protection stays exactly as it was.

RoamVitals is an independent product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Hughes Autoformers. Compatibility is maintained on a best-effort basis.

Connect your Power Watchdog (optional)

Already running a Hughes Power Watchdog? Make sure it’s powered on and within range of the RoamVitals Hub. The hub automatically detects compatible Power Watchdog devices and begins reading their data.

Voltage, current draw, energy usage, and fault status appear in your RoamVitals dashboard alongside your temperature and humidity sensors โ€” all in one view, one app, one account.

5

Customize your alerts

Open app.roamvitals.com in any browser โ€” no download required. Set the thresholds that matter to you:

  • Temperature ceiling for pet safety (e.g., alert me above 82ยฐF)
  • Low temperature for freeze protection (e.g., alert me below 38ยฐF)
  • Humidity high for mold risk
  • Shore power fault or voltage out of range

Choose how you want to be reached: email, SMS, or push notification via Pushover. Set it once. Adjust any time. Per-sensor, per-hub filtering available on paid plans.

6

Go enjoy yourself.

RoamVitals syncs to the cloud continuously. Your dashboard shows live conditions from any device, anywhere you have signal. Alerts reach you fast. Everything else fades to the background.

OTA Updates: Your hub updates itself automatically when connected. New features and fixes arrive without cables, reinstalls, or support calls.
